How to choose a PCP?
A primary care provider (PCP) is a doctor, nurse practitioner or a physician assistant that treats common medical problems. We assign every member a PCP when you enroll in our health plan. Your PCP is chosen based on your needs.
If you aren’t happy with our selection, you can choose a different PCP. We have many PCPs specializing in different types of care. You can change your PCP:
The MCC of FL provider and pharmacy search tool can help you find a PCP in the Magellan Complete Care of Florida network. Please review the Importance of your PCP page for more information and helpful tips on choosing the right PCP for your needs.
If you’ve recently enrolled in the MCC of FL plan, you must visit your PCP within the first 30 days of enrollment to get a health assessment, even if you aren’t sick. It’s important that your PCP gets to know you when you’re healthy. This will help them better treat you when you’re not. Your health assessment will help us learn about your healthcare needs so we can make sure you get the right care for you.
