Healthy Behaviors-Teen and Young Adult Clinic Days
Magellan Complete Care’s Teen and Young Adult Healthy Behaviors Clinic Days are focused on particularly vulnerable and non-adherent (12 -21 yr. old) enrollees. MCC rewards teens who attend a scheduled primary clinic day and complete their annual well visit with a $20 reward.
The outcomes for this program are based on the Adolescent Well Care Visit (AWC) HEDIS measure which measures the percentage of enrollees ages (12-21 Yrs.) who had at least one comprehensive well-care visit with a PCP of OB/GYN practitioner during the measurement year. This incentive program aims to improve outcome measures by 10% over the previous measurement year.
A “Clinic Day” is defined as a scheduled health care event connecting Magellan enrollees with a PCP for completion of their annual wellness visit.
Adolescents face many challenges that are unique to their stage of life, including rapid physical growth, changing hormones, and sexual maturity. Both the American Medical Association and American Academy of Pediatrics agree, an annual confidential wellness exam is a vital key to improving adolescent health.
